New Adventures in the Snow

I love to explore and have new adventures. Although it is not easy, I want to make it a lifetime goal to try new things and travel to new places. Recently, I got to spend a weekend at Big Bear and went snowboarding. It was such a thrill and I absolutely loved learning the sport. I have to admit that I suck at sports, always had so I'm not very fond of them. However, snowboarding was so much fun and a good workout; I hope I get to go again! I also walked around the town, explored the small shops, and ate gelato in the snow- yeah it was cold.

It was difficult to dress cute in the cold weather, therefore I layered my jacket and coat the entire weekend for a cute and casual look. Under those jeans I had leggings and socks made for snow weather. Oh, and this Roxy beanie was the best and I have no shame in admitting that I didn't take it off. I just wished someone would have told me to take gloves because my hands were freezing the entire time. I find it interesting how wardrobe is a big part of traveling. Although it's not the most important, one must dress appropriate for the weather and if you're into fashion it can be difficult. I learned this while I was in Florida, boy was the weather really not like California there (haha).

I also had time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. The sun set was so pretty while driving up the mountains. No matter how many times I've seen the sun, it still manages to amaze me.

Ipsy: January Bag Review

I have continued with my Ipsy subscription and I've noticed a consistent pattern on the items I receive. Here is what I received for the month of January. I have to admit that by far this has been my least favorite bag because I feel I have received similar items sometime in the past. In previous bags, I've received a total of four eye shadows of the similar shade (not including this one), a blending brush, nail polish, and eyeliner.

What I loved:
The nail polish! Even though I've received one before, I loved the color. The nail polish is very light I used three coatings and it wasn't thick.

What I hated:
The eye liner! I've never used this brand before and I will not trust it. The eye liner consistency is really thick and dry which made it difficult to apply. I felt I had to press very hard on my eyelids to get color.

I can't complain about the rest of the products, although not my favorite I still enjoy experimenting with other brands and products. Through my Ipsy subscription there has been a few items that I absolutely love enough to buy. Well I guess this is the point of having this kind of subscription right?!

Fond Memories at Disneyland

Since my last post, which has been a while, I quit my job at Disneyland and I've spent a vast majority of my time at home with family and reflecting. (Also, this dress from H&M shrunk drastically since my last post.) Anyway, back to what I wanted to write- Quitting Disneyland wasn't as hard as I first thought it would be. I'm still unsure of a lot of things, but I do not worry because I genuinely believe things happen for a reason and soon everything will fall into place. As I was saying goodbye to all the cast members at Disney the one question everyone would ask is, "Where are you going?" I honestly did't know how to answer this question, because I wasn't going anywhere, yet it was as if people were expecting me to go somewhere. I didn't quit Disneyland because I had landed some amazing job elsewhere. Reflecting back at my decision, I quit Disneyland because I believe it was holding me back from pursuing other dreams. I have this daunting theory that getting too comfortable somewhere will hold me back from pursuing my dreams.

It's been a little over a month now and I do admit that I miss Disneyland and being a part of this amazing culture of people making magical movements for guests. Of course there were dull moments, but what made this experience special are the people that I worked with. Yes, people complain at Disneyland and cast members get irritated with guests at times. I give so much kudos to cast members who know how to keep that magic alive, believe me it is difficult to keep the magic alive everyday to exceed guest expectations. Nonetheless, there are some amazing people working right now that are making magical moments for strangers expecting nothing in return but a thank you. I experienced a lot of growth and memories during my time there that is why working at Disney will always have a special place in my life. As the 60th anniversary of Disneyland rapidly approaches this year I will wait patiently for my next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth and I have no doubt that it will be magical.
