A Summer Dress in Fall

Days are going by so fast I can't believe we are more than halfway through the year. It is bittersweet because the Holidays are my favorite part of the year, but the older I grow the more melancholy I get from memories. Sometimes I wish I could freeze moments in life when I feel so much joy in my heart. I had a couple of those moments this weekend. Over the weekend, I spent a lot of quality time with friends and family close to my heart.

Although it is Fall, I am still able to wear pretty summer dresses in October thanks to this California heat that does't seem to be leaving us yet. I recently purchased this all over flower print midi dress from H&M. Although you can't see it in these pictures it has a shorter cut on the sides which gives this dress a little sexy edge to its girly silhouette. I loved how this dress just was perfectly fitted for my petite body frame. I find it really difficult to dress myself due to my small body and when I find something that fits like a glove I don't let it go!
I hope everyone had a blessed weekend with friends and family.

Catching up with Barbie

On recent fashion news, Barbie has made its biggest comeback since I was a child (in my opinion). I have many fond memories of my childhood playing with Barbies. I remember every Christmas Eve my cousin and I would play Barbies until it was midnight and time to open presents. Over the Summer, news started circulating on the web that Barbie had join Instagram under BarbieStyle, I immediately followed her.

I grew up with Barbie, she was who I would play with every day after school until I reached the age when it was no longer cool. A lot of my childhood memories are with this doll. She is the epitome of American culture. This doll is an illusion and depiction of the "Perfect Woman" - flawless, classy and stylish. She does everything and she is perfect! Our culture can pick at this doll and mention everything that is wrong with her cultural meaning, but I love how Jeremy Scott put it, "When people want to dissect her and her cultural meaning- it's a doll, it's meant to have fun, it's fashion, its just meant to be fun."

Whoever is running her Instagram page must be having a blast living that Barbie life. She is now a renowned fashion blogger who has been to many major fashion shows and most recently, she became the face of Moschino Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection which debuted in Milan. Nonetheless, bubble gum pink was the primary color of this collection featuring other fun colors such as orange, blue and green. The collection was obviously not meant to be so serious, it was nothing less of fun. The very Barbie-esque props brought Barbie to life and that's what I loved the most about this collection, Scott made every girl's dream who played with Barbie come to life. Above are some of my favorite pieces from the collection.

Ipsy: September Bag Review

I subscribed to ipsy over the summer and so far I have to say I am happy with the service. The most exciting part is getting to try new products that I wouldn't purchase on the regular basis. Getting to try new brands and products is what I love the most about being a subscriber. I have made a quick review of my ipsy bag for September.

My favorite products this month was the Crown Brush and the Pacifica eye pencil. I'm not big on eye shadows, but I did love that I got an eyeshadow brush. The bristles are soft and surely makes eyeshadow application easier. The eye pencil is really creamy and soft on the lids. I really loved the product and color. I also liked the eyeshadow, although I hardly wear it this eyeshadow has a nice slightly shimmery neutral brown tone. My least favorite product has to be the lipgloss. I've never heard of the brand CAILYN, but in my opinion the lipgloss looked cheap and I didn't like the shade of color I received. As far as the hair conditioning mask, I don't plan on using it much, but it did smell wonderful and. when I applied it to the ends of my hair it did make my hair feel smoother. It is not my favorite because I'm not into hair products and my hair is not damaged so I don't see myself using this product often.

I hope this small review helps in giving a little glimpse on what an ipsy subscription looks like. I still haven't decided if $10 a month is well worth my money, but I love receiving packages in the mail... So I guess we can say that it makes for a fun and unexpected experience.

A Recap on Life

These past few months have been an emotional struggle for me. Here's a quick recap of what has happened in my life these past few months.

I GRADUATED... yaaaayyy....

Now I am just been working and going through life.

I've had a few memorable experiences, both good and bad, but I can't complain. The good always overpowers the bad... I keep telling myself that.

To begin, I got to work at the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards and Kids' Choice Sports Awards, assisting their stylist. Which this eventually led me to having the honor of touching slime with my very own fingers! I grew up watching people on Nickelodeon get slime. I never in my life thought that one day I would get to actually touch it or be on the orange carpet. So yes, it was a big deal to me! (Ha!) It was a pivotal moment in my life. I wore my converse on the carpet, I just didn't get the memo that I would actually be outside (I usually work behind the scenes, you know doing the steaming... and more steaming).

In the midst of all the celebrities walking the carpet and being backstage, I saw David Beckham. He was right in front of me, and I had no idea who he was until the next day. Oh well.

I went to Vegas and attended the Juan Gabriel Concert, the next say he was hospitalized for phenomena.

I saw The Game at Disneyland. Yes, the rapper. I don't know any of his songs, but that doesn't matter. I saw a celebrity at Disneyland and that's what matters.

I got into a car accident and my car got ruined, but that's OK because this led me to purchasing my very first car! =D

Then that led me to rethink my job at Disneyland and I am now looking for a new job. Somewhere closer to home or LA in the fashion industry, because after all I graduated this June and I am a struggling recent grad!

Oh, and have I mentioned that I went to Walt Disney World! It was an unforgettable experience!

Finally, I attended the On the Run Concert. Yes, I love Beyonce and I might have a slight obsession with her so I thought the concert was amazing!

Well this is my life at the moment. It's been unpredictable and at times I get very doubtful of where I'm suppose to go next. I'm just a twenty-something year old girl trying to figure out what I need to do in life... aren't we all?

Anyways, my favorite time of the year is almost here, I love the Holiday season!

Capturing Moments

You know those days, where you just wish to capture a moment and hold on to it forever, this was one of those days. Sand on my feet, a breeze in my hair and the smell of salty ocean water. Serenity and peace calms the mind and frees the soul.

Since I got this knitted sweater, I spend my days just wishing that a sudden cold hits Southern California. Although it's only summer, I've been finding any excuse to wear it, even at the beach. Good thing that it gets cold in the afternoons and at night, it gives me the perfect reason to wear it.

Current Thoughts

| Top: Ross | Shorts: Levi's | Shoes: Converse | Hand Wallet: Fossil |
Everyone says that your teenage years are the most difficult since you're trying to find yourself; however, I tend to disagree with that. Life after high school has sincerely been the most challenging years of my life and the challenge still continues. Took me six years to finally finish my bachelors degree and I am proud of that accomplishment, but I'm not satisfied. I'm finding true that having a degree is just not sufficed in this time in age. Employers ask for experience. How is one supposed to gain the experience if the chance is not given? I'm finding this to be my case. Although I've had internships, some work experience and now a degree, finding a career path seems to be my biggest challenge. The thought of what will become of me makes me feel unease and unsatisfied with my current accomplishments. Maybe it's a millennial trait, but wanting things (career, success) now are really testing my patience. Everyone I talk to says I will figure it out, I really hope I do.

On the brighter note, a week before commencement, which I missed because of delayed and canceled flights; I gifted myself a vacation trip to Walt Disney World. This was my favorite outfit taken at Epcot. I snagged this shirt at Ross on the day of my departure for $7 dollars! Besides the price, I absolutely loved the colors, print and back zipper detail. This place was great for walking, exploring and taking tons of pictures. I know soon I will have withdrawals from this place, but meanwhile I will continue to stay positive, focused, and hopeful.

Weekend Getaway

| Dress: LEVI'S | Shoes & Socks: Converse | Purse: Rebecca Minkoff | Lipstick:  em Michelle Phan in Wine Stain |

Las Vegas had a beautiful weather this past weekend. My family and I went on a small vacation for a concert. The morning of the concert, we went for a morning walk on the famous Las Vegas Blvd. I wore this dress by Levi's that I loved because it has a beautiful flower print and light denim material with my favorite white Converse sneakers. Lastly, I wore my favorite matte lipstick from em by Michelle Phan in Wine Stain color. I absolutely love this lipstick because it has such a vibrant color.

Tea Time

Recently my friend and I went to Barbara's Victorian Tea House and Gift Shop located in Rancho Cucamonga, it was my first tea house visit. We made reservations a day before, I was surprised we got reservations since many reviews suggested to make advance reservations. I was so excited to go to a Victorian style tea house I had to wear a tea length dress. I wore this dress once for my high school graduation. It's been stored in the back of my closet for a very long, but for this event this dress just made perfect sense.

The tea house is a small home with limited seating. It is only open for a very short period of time during the day. The place is so charming, enchanting and being built in 1908 it is now a historic landmark. From the outside, it looks just like a house, but once you walk inside the setting is fully decorated with antique Victorian decor and china glassware. The atmosphere and service was amazing, they have classical music in the background while the owner's daughter serves you your tea and meal. We got the Princess Patricia's Tea it started with a delicious soup, followed by a freshly baked scone, fresh fruit, four sandwiches, and a chocolate dipped strawberry and lemon bar for dessert. We had four different types of tea, all of which are Barbara's house blend according to her daughter. In addition, we were told the tea is imported from other countries such as Japan and Australia. Nonetheless, the tea was the best part and I can't wait to go back, dress up and try new teas. I really loved and enjoyed this experience.
