Tea Time

Recently my friend and I went to Barbara's Victorian Tea House and Gift Shop located in Rancho Cucamonga, it was my first tea house visit. We made reservations a day before, I was surprised we got reservations since many reviews suggested to make advance reservations. I was so excited to go to a Victorian style tea house I had to wear a tea length dress. I wore this dress once for my high school graduation. It's been stored in the back of my closet for a very long, but for this event this dress just made perfect sense.

The tea house is a small home with limited seating. It is only open for a very short period of time during the day. The place is so charming, enchanting and being built in 1908 it is now a historic landmark. From the outside, it looks just like a house, but once you walk inside the setting is fully decorated with antique Victorian decor and china glassware. The atmosphere and service was amazing, they have classical music in the background while the owner's daughter serves you your tea and meal. We got the Princess Patricia's Tea it started with a delicious soup, followed by a freshly baked scone, fresh fruit, four sandwiches, and a chocolate dipped strawberry and lemon bar for dessert. We had four different types of tea, all of which are Barbara's house blend according to her daughter. In addition, we were told the tea is imported from other countries such as Japan and Australia. Nonetheless, the tea was the best part and I can't wait to go back, dress up and try new teas. I really loved and enjoyed this experience.

Sheila.
